Attempt to murder case against police officer
Sagar(MP), Oct 4 (UNI) Five Railway Protection Force personnel were suspended and attempt to murder case registered against a Government Railway Police officer and six others in connection with assaulting BJP MP Virendra Kumar while removing encroachments near Bina railway station in this district of Madhya Pradesh yesterday.
RPF Superintendent R S Uike said Town Inspector Vivek Sharma, Assistant Sub-Inspector Sharma and jawans Sudhir, Gokul and Kartar Singh were suspended.
Attempt to murder and other charges were framed against Bina's GRP Station House Officer S S Badgurjar, RPF Commandant Sarika Mohan, Town Inspector Vivek Sharma and four other RPF jawans, according to Bina Town Inspector K R Sirojiya.
RPF and GRP jawans allegedly rained lathi-blows on the BJP MP from Sagar when he intervened while removing shops erected illegally on encroached railway land in Chhotti Bajaria area of Bina Station.
Mr Virendra Kumar, who suffered injury on his head and hand, is undergoing treatment at Bhopal's Hamidia Hospital.
The divisional town of Sagar observed a total bandh today on the BJP's call to protest the assault on BJP parliamentarian. All shops and markets remained closed.
