Tough action against forcible conversion: HDK
Kolar, Karnataka, Oct 2: H D Kumaraswamy, the former Karnataka Chief Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) leader has stated that those who indulged in forcible conversions should be dealt with severely. He was speaking after opening a temple at Maliyappanahalli in Malur Taluk in the district on he said anybody who lured people for conversion, against the Constitution, should be dealt with an iron hand.
HDK came down heavily on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and termed them (BJP) as 'psuedosecularists.' He said the BJP, which claimed itself to be saviour of Hinduism, has failed to protect the interests of the common man in the State. ''Ram Raj does not mean what the BJP men profess. It means the real Ram Raj dreamt by Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
Alleging that BJP is not the champion of Hinduism, Mr Kumaraswamy said ''barring, BJP every political party in the country is committed to secularism.'' Referring to increase in terror activities, Mr Kumaraswamy said it should be noted that bombs have been supplied from places where BJP was in dominance.
He held the BJP responsible for the increase in terror activities in the country.
Regretting it was his mistake not to transfer power to the BJP as agreed upon, the former Chief Minister said the BJP rode on the sympathy factor to secure over 100 seats in the Assembly elections.
Stating the BJP-led Government in the State had failed on all fronts, Kumaraswamy called upon the people to teach the party a fitting lesson in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
