K'taka: Bajrang Dal Chief steps down

Mangalore, Oct 2: In the wake of Mangalore protests and instructions from the higher ups of Bajrang Dal, Mahendra Kumar, Bajrang Dal convener resigned his post. According to sources, Mr Kumar had sent his resignation letter to Mr Prakash Sharma, central convener of Bajrang Dal.

He was arrested by the state police following his claim that the Bajrang Dal was behind the series of attacks on places of worship belonging to a minority community in the state last month for allegedly carrying out 'forcible' conversions. He was later arrested by the Mangalore police and subsequently released on bail.
