Honda launches its third gen 'City' sedan

Mumbai, Oct 1 (UNI) The India arm of Honda Motor, Honda Siel, launched its new third generation Honda 'City' car here today.

The Honda City has undergone a number of changes under and above the bonnet to match Indian driving conditions.

The overall length and width of the car has been increased by five mm (4420 mm and 1695 mm) with the height lowered by 15 mm (1480 mm) without compromising the headroom and ground clearance. The wheelbase has also been extended by 100 mm with the trunk offering 506 litres of space for luggage.

Under the bonnet, the City will be powered by its new generation of 1.5 litre four cylinder i-VTEC engine delivering 118PS. The City will be available in 1.5E MT (Manual Transmission) and 1.5S MT and AT (Automatic Transmission) using a Paddle Shift gears, at a price ranging from Rs 8,15,000 to Rs 9,42,000.

For safety, the car is equipped with ABS (Ani-Lock Braking System) with Brake Assist (BA), Dual SRS airbags, pre-tensioner seat belts and G-CON (G-Force Control Technology) body with crush-proof zone.

The car will also be loaded with the expected accessories and gizmos that are expected from its segment-steering mounted control Advanced Integrated Audio System that is compatible with iPOD, MP3, USB, cell phone and MP3 player.

Honda Siel has opened bookings for the new City with deliveries expected to commence from November.
