EC announces by-election schedule for one MLC seat

New Delhi, Oct 0 (UNI) The Election Commission (EC) has announced the schedule of by-election to the Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) to fill up the vacancy.

According to an EC release issued here today, the notification for the same will be issued on October 6, the last date of filing nominations is october 13. The Scrutiny of nominations will take place on october 14 and the last date for withdrawal of names is October 16.

The poll if required will be held on October 23 and the counting of votes will be taken up on the same day.

The entire election process will be completed by october 25.

The MLC member will be elected by the members of the legislative Assembly, the release added.
