21 injured in serial blasts in Tripura
Agartala, Oct 01 (UNI) At least 21 people were injured, four of them seriously, in serial blasts in five different areas of Tripura at 1945 hours tonight.
DIG (Police Operations) Nepal Das here said the blasts, which took place at around 1945 hours in the main market area of Maharajgunj in the heart of the capital town, Radhanagar bus stand, G B Bazar, Krishnagar and tribal-dominated Abhaynagar in the outskirts of the capital, injured at least 21 people, four of them critically.
He informed that low-intensity time devices were used for the blasts.
All the critically injured were from the busy Maharajgunj area, he added.
Mr Das stated that none had claimed responsibility so far for the blasts.
Police had launched a massive search operation for the culprits and cordoned off all the areas as panic had gripped people, who were busy marketing for the coming Durga Puja.
All the injured had been admitted to Indira Gandhi Memorial hospital, where the condition of four was stated to be critical.
