PF interest rate for FY09 to be decided next month

New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) Union Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes today said his ministry will convene a meeting of all concerned stakeholders next month to decide interest payment rate to all provident fund subscribers for the current financial year.

Refusing to give any indication on the likely rate while speaking at a function here, he said the decision will be taken by the board of trustees of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation.

EPFO's board had fixed 8.5 per cent as the interest rate for 2007-08.
