Ex Space Dept official's book gets global award
Bangalore, Sep 30 (UNI) ''Touching Lives,' written by S K Das, Former Member (Finance) of the Space Department, has been selected for the prestigious Luigi Napolitano Book Award of International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) for the year 2008.
The award was presented during the Academy Day function held at Glasgow, Scotland organised on the occasion of International Astronautical Congress (IAC) on September 28, an ISRO release said here today.
The award consisted of a citation by the Board of Trustees of IAA.
IAA is an independent organisation founded in 1960 to bring together the world's foremost experts in the disciplines of Astronautics, to recognise their accomplishments and explore and discuss cutting-edge issues in space research and technologies.
Mr S K Das is a retired official from Indian Administrative Service.
