World Heart Day at Western Command

Chandigarh, Sep 28 (UNI) On the occasion of World Heart Day-2008, the Western Command Hospital organised a 'Cardiac awareness, Diagnostic and Counselling Camp' for all serving and retired personnel and their families at the hospital at Chandimandir today.

A series of poster presentations, one to one counselling regarding healthy diet, lifestyle problems and measures to prevent cardiac problems were organized under the expert supervision of the experts. All necessary investigations including ECG, ECHO, TMT, blood sugar and other relevant investigations were also carried out.

Speaking on the occasion, Maj Gen Charanjit Singh, a renowned cardiologist, stressed upon the important role of healthy diet and proper lifestyle in prevention of heart diseases.

Maj Gen Shamsher Singh, Commandant of the hospital, informed the gathering of senior serving and retired officers and other ranks that with the installation of cardiac cath lab, which is soon expected, the cardiac care at Command Hospital will get a big boost.
