Lalu assures implementing Wage Board recommendations for scribes
Gaya, Sep 28 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today assured the scribes of implementing Wage Board recommendations for journalists at the earliest.
Addressing a two-day national level seminar of the journalists here, Mr Prasad said he would try his best towards implementing the recomendations of the Wage Board Commission for media.
He also appealed to the scribes to launch a movement unitedly for their cause.
The minister underscored the relevance of the print media in the present scenario, stating that the entire sphere of news would be incomplete without newsprints and newspapers.
He also urged the electronic media to concentrate and give priority to positive news.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Steel and Fertiliser Minister Ramvilas Paswan said media was essential to strengthen democracy, adding its freedom was unfortunately under pressure by the media house owners.
He also gave assurance towards implementing the wage board recomendations for the journalists and non-journalists.
