Former minister arrested for illegal mining
Bangalore, Sep 28 (UNI) Police today arrested former minister M Diwakar Babu on charges of violating prohibitory orders and taking up mining in disputed areas in Bellary district of Karnataka.
According to the police, Babu, a Congress leader, was arrested along with four others for attempting to take up mining operations in the disputed areas.
Babu was later released, police said.
