Eight killed in explosion in Orissa village

Balasore, Sep 28 (UNI) At least eight people were killed and several others injured in an explosion that rocked Gundarpada village under Basta block, about 40 kms from here today.

Police said the details of the cause of explosion could not be ascertained as the village was located in an inaccessible area.

However, a report quoting the local villagers said the explosion took place when crackers stored in a house exploded.The villagers apprehended more casualties in the mishap.

Senior district officials have rushed to the village for an on the spot probe into the incident. Details were awaited.
