Bihar has five DG rank officers for first time
Patna, Sep 28 (UNI) For the first time, Bihar is having five officers of Director General (DG) rank with the promotion of J K Khanna to the post of DG.
Mr Khanna, 1974 batch IPS officer of Bihar cadre had been posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at Bihar Bhawan in New Delhi.
After his return from his central deputation on September 2, Mr Khanna was waiting for his posting.
The present DGP of Bihar D N Gautam of the same batch was promoted and made DGP superceeding Mr Khanna.
Till the promotion of Mr Khanna to the DG rank, Bihar had only four sanctioned DG rank posts.
Apart from Mr Gautam and A R Sinha, who were posted on the cadre posts, two other DGs -- Anand Shankar and Manoje Nath were holding non cadre posts.
