Detenue manages to give police a slip in Udhampur
Jammu, Sep 26 (UNI) A detenue managed to escape from police custody, while he was being taken to the court to appear in a theft case in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, sources here said.
''A burglar escaped from police custody after he unlocked the handcuff outside the court in Udhampur town,'' sources told UNI.
The accused has been identified as Rahul Pabha, resident of Pabha Mohalla Chabutra Bazar. He was arrested in a theft case and under the Arms Act after recovery of a sharp edged weapon from his possession.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur, has placed two police constables Shakeel Ahmed and Sukhdev Singh under suspension, sources asserted.
Police has registered a case under Section 224 RPC against the accused.
