Pilotless Aircraft 'Lakhya' test flown from ITR
{image-Pilotless Target Aircraft_25092008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Balasore, Sep 25: The indigenously built Pilotless Target Aircraft (PTA) 'Lakhya' was successfully test flown from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur-on-sea in Orissa, about 15 kms from, here on Thursday, Sep 25.
According to ITR sources the Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) was test flown at 12 17 pm. The Lakhya aircraft has already been inducted in the armed forces in 2000. ITR sources said today's test flown of Lakhya was a developed engine version which has been used as aerial reconnaissance of battle field including the target acquisition.
