Ten drown in a boat mishap in Bihar
Supaul, Sep 22 (UNI) At least ten people were washed away when a country made boat got stuck in the current of the turbulent river Kosi, and capsized midstream under Birpur police station here last night.
Police Superintendent D N Gupta said today the boat overturned in midstream due to over loading and high current in the river.
The ill fated boat was ferrying 23 people from Gidarmahi village to Birpur.
He said 13 people swam to safety while ten others drowned.
Divers had been pressed into service to trace the bodies, he added.
