Students demand action against assault on teacher

Puducherry, Sep 22 (UNI) Students of the Koodappakkam Government Higher Secondary School near here today resorted to agitation, demanding immediate arrest of a man, who allegedly assaulted one of their teachers.

According to the students, Mr Fakrudin, the teacher was taking special class on Saturday last when one Jayamurthy of Konerikuppam in an inebriated condition engaged in a wordy duel with him and assaulted him.

Villianur police has registered a case and are on the look out for the culprit.

Earlier, the students attempted to put up a road blockade.

However, on advice from their teachers they observed a sit in agitation.

Forty teachers of the school also supported the students, seeking protection for them.
