Power generation increases in MP
Bhopal, Sep 22: Power generation has increased to 46,566 KW per hour in Madhya Pradesh during 2007-08 recording 16.83 per cent increase than preceding year, according to a monthly review by the Centre For Monitoring Indian Economy (CMRE).
In its report for, the CMRE observed that during 2007-08, percentage of thermal power generation rose by 18.26 per cent against the figures of 2006-07. Hydel-power generation registered 8.28 per cent rise.
During 2007-08, 6,169 million KW hydel power was generated per hour in the state, an official release said here today.
According to the report, total per hour power generation by March 2008 was 117.78 million KW, which is 10.01 per cent more than the preceding year.
This included 3,820 million KW power generated per hour by thermal plants, which was 12.47 per cent of the total power generation. The thermal power generation during the year in question also rose by 11.11 per cent in comparison to 2007.
Maximum 437.40 million KW per hour thermal power was generated by the Vindhyachal thermal power plant, registering a 19.98 per cent in comparison to the preceding year, the release added.
