Patil threatens to revive statehood movement for H-K region
Gulbarga, Sept 22 (UNI) Hyderabad-Karnataka Horatha Samithi President and former minister Vijyanath Patil today said the organisation will organise a gherao at Parliamant House in New Delhi on November 1, demanding that Article 371 of the Constitution be amended.
Mr Patil said the 'samiti' has been demanding the amendmment to this Article for a long time.
The amendment was done for Maharasthra and Andhra Pradesh, but it had not been done in the case of Karnataka, he said.
Issuing an ultimatum to the Centre, he said that the 'samiti' would wait for a year and if the Centre failed to consider the demand within that time, it would launch an agitation for separate statehood for the Hyderabad-Karnataka region.
