Militant killed in gunbattle at LoC in J-K

Poonch (J andK), Sept 22 : A militant was killed in a fierce gun battle on the Line of Control (LoC) between Indian troops and militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch District today.

The militants entered the country under the cover of firing from the Pakistani side of the border in Poonch.

A group of armed militants entered the Indian territory from Kabaristan post of Pakistan and were trapped by troops close to Kalash Indian post between Zeroline and border fencing along LoC in Poonch district on Sunday morning, according to Defence officials.

The operation was still on.

On Sunday, an army personnel was also killed in the same gun-battle.
