Puducherry: Left leaders meet PMC chief

Puducherry, Sep 22: A delegation of Left parties on Monday, Sep 22 held discussions with Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) President P Kannan, following the announcement on Sunday, Sep 21 that it was ready to forge an alliance with any party willing to accept its leadership, thereby setting the stage for formation of the Third Front in the Union Territory.

CPI State Secretary Na Ra Kalainathan and National Council Member R Viswanathan (both MLAs) and CPI (M) Secretary V Perumal and Former Secretary T Murugan along with office-bearers called on Mr Kannan at the PMC office here.

Besides, Mr Kannan, the PMC was represented by it's three legislators and office-bearers.

The delegations held a closed door meeting and political observers here feel it was a significant development.
