Heavy rainfall damages Kalka-Shimla track

Shimla, Sep 22 (UNI) Heavy rainfall from last three days has damaged Kalka-Shimla Heritage Railway Line at several places bringing the rail traffic to standstill on the 150 years old track.

The heritage railway track has very few instances when it had to stop the operations. The train had chugged smoothly on this track even during heavy snowfall, but the recent rains have paralysed the operations.

According to railway sources, heavy rainfall and landslides have caused huge loss to railway property in the state.
