Gorakhpur varsity VC gets security for facing life threat

Gorakhpur, Sep 22 (UNI) The district administration has provided security cover to Deen Dayal Upadhyay University vice-chancellor Prof N S Gajbhiye, following threat on his life.

Police today said the District Administration has deployed Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) sleuths at the house of the VC.

The Varsity sources yesterday claimed that Prof Gajbhiye had received two threatening letters through the speed-post and a courier.

The letters, allegedly sent by one Pintu Singh of Bihar, had warned him to leave the city and go to Maharashtra before Deepawali.

''A plan for your murder has already been prepared under the contract killing of Rs 10 lakh,'' the letter read.

The Prof had received a similar warning over telephone earlier too, sources claimed.
