Congress concerned over spurt in terror activity in South Asia
New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Congress today denounced the suicide car-bombing at the Marriott hotel in Islamabad that killed at least 40 last week, and said it was a matter of concern that there was a spurt in terrorist activity in South Asia.
Without naming Pakistan, AICC Spokesman Manish Tewari said those governments which were supporting terrorism should stop it and cooperate with the neighbouring countries to end the menace.
He also condoled the death of Inspector M C Sharma who was killed in an encounter with the terrorists believed to be behind the September 13 serial blasts.
A two-minute silence was observed in memory of Sharma before the commencement of the official briefing by Mr Tewari at the AICC headquarters.
