14 of Mah govt's 70 mega projects operational

Mumbai, Sept 22 (UNI) The Maharashtra government's policy of mega projects has proved to be a huge success with commencement of 14 of the 70 projects, creating employment for 18,000 people.

There is tremendous growth of small industries due to these mega projects, in which Rs 50,000 crore has been invested.

For the last one year, production in 10,800 small industries have started, with an estimated investment of Rs 3,000 crore creating 60,000 employment opportunities, an official release said here today.

For encouraging entrepreneurship, the government had implemented a special package, under which micro, small, medium and big industries were encouraged.

Industries of 10 districts, having less human manpower index and investing more than Rs 100 crore or generating 250 employment opportunities were also provided special facilities under the scheme, the release added.
