NE education policy from next session

Shillong, Sep 19 (UNI) The new education policy in Meghalaya is expected to come into effect from next academic session.

Higher and Technical Education minister Manas Chaudhry today said discussion to implement the new education policy was in progress between the state government and a Hyderabad-based company.

Earlier, the Hynniewtrep Ntional Youth Front (HNYF) had served ultimatum to the MPA government, urging them to announce new education policy in the state by September 26, failing which the organisation will launch agitation.

HNYF sources, meanwhile, said in absence of concrete education policy, students, particularly those from poor family, were facing financial problems.
