Gujjar leader Col Bainsla hospitalised

Jaipur, Sep 19: Gujjar Reservation Action Committee convener Col Kirori Singh Bainsla has been admitted to the Sainik Hospital here following a sudden illness on Friday, Sep 19 morning. Col Bainsla, who was on his way to Jodhpuria in Tonk district to begin his 'Chetavni Yatra', suddenly complained of restlessness.

Subsequently, he was brought back from Sanganer and was rushed to the Sainik Hospital in the Army Cantt. area here. Doctors attending upon him said that he might be having blockade in his blood vessels. Col Bainsla was to begin his 'Yatra' this afternoon from Jodhpuria in protest against the Congress' alleged apathy to the Gujjar demand of ST status and delay in the Governor's nod to the Reservation Bill passed by the Rajasthan Assembly to extend 5 per cent reservation quota to Gujjars and 3 other castes under most backward class category and 14 per cent reservation to economically backward classes in unreserved general category.
