Glass cover of a Child Jesus damaged in a fresh attack

Mangalore, Sept 19 (UNI) In a fresh incident some miscreants have attacked a Church, even as the Karnataka Government, bowing to pressure, ordered Judicial inquiry into the attacks on Churches in parts of the State on September 14.

The miscreants damaged the glass cover of a child Jesus statue fixed to the gate wall outside a church situated on Bantwal- Poonjalkatte Road at Moorje under Venoor police station limit today.

According to police, a motor bike borne miscreant who came to St. Xavier Church in the wee hours broke the glass cover of the statue fixed to the gate wall and escaped after realizing that some youth are guarding the Church, The Church was constructed five year back.

Venoor police have registered a case and investigating.
