CBI gets back Quattrocchi-related documents
New Delhi, Sep 19 (UNI) Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjeev Jain today allowed the CBI to take back certain documents, which were filed in the Bofors kickbacks case, pertaining to Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi.
The CBI had filed an application stating that these documents belonged to the Prime Minister's Office so the PMO had requested them to return those documents.
The CMM allowed the application after an undertaking that those documents were not vital to the disposal of the case.
Earlier, the CBI had failed to get Quattrocchi's extradition to India from Argentina.
The chargesheet against Quattrocchi has already been filed in the case.
The trial has still been pending against Quattrocchi since the 1980s.
