Vice-Chairman of bank held in rape case
Pune, Sep 18 (UNI) Police today arrested the vice-chairman of a Pimpri-based cooperative bank for allegedly raping a woman.
According to police, the victim had filed a complaint against Prabhu Jadhwani for allegedly drugging, raping and taking her nude pictures at Hinjewadi on August 17.
The woman, who had sought a loan of Rs 50,000 from the Bank, alleged that after drugging her, Jodhwani took her in his car to a place near a hotel and raped her, Police Inspector S S Patil, who is investigating the case said.
Earlier, some local women organisations took out ''morchas'' to the bank, demanding stern action against the accused when the incident came to light.
Jadhwani will be produced in the Pimpri court later this evening for remand, Police added.
