Seven police personnel in Lalu's convoy injured in road accident
Supaul, Sep 18 (UNI) At least seven police personnel of the convoy of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad were seriously injured when their jeep overturned at a blind turning near Kamalpur village under Pipra police station here today.
Official sources said Mr Prasad, along with his wife and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Rabri Devi, is on a five-day tour of the flood-hit districts to take stock of the situation.
On the second day of his tour today, Mr Prasad was on way to Madhepura via Pipra. The police jeep of the escort team overturned at the blind turning soon after the vehicle of Mr Prasad crossed the point safely.
The injured people include an officer of inspector rank, three chowkidars, two policemen and a police driver. All of them were rushed to the local sadar hospital in serious condition.
The sources said Mr Prasad was continuing his forward journey as per schedule.
The Railway Minister, meanwhile, instructed to provide proper treatmnent to the injured police personnel and also inquired about their condition over telephone.
