K'taka govt urged to take action against miscreants

Kannur, Sep 17 (UNI) Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed today urged the Karnataka government to take action against the miscreants who attacked the places of worship of a particular community and their educational institutions.

Talking to reporters here, he said the Karnataka government should not fail in its responsibility of maintaining law and order and ensure peace.

Mr Ahamed said anti-national forces were behind the violence in Managalore that targeted a particular community.

He also condemned the incidents in Orissa by terming them as shameful to Indian democracy.

Mr Ahamed, who was elected president of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) recently, said his party had two types of registration, one in the sate and the other at the National level.

If anybody had any complaint against the registration, they could take to legal recourse.
