Bomb scare at Rajkot Railway Station

Rajkot, Sep 17 (UNI) Security was beefed up today at the Rajkot Railway Station following a threat of a bomb blast on its premises.

Railway Police Sub Inspector (PSI) D F Kalara told UNI that a letter, addressed to the Railway manager, threatening to blow up the Rajkot railway station, was received this morning.

The letter, written in three languages (Gujarati, English, Hindi), was posted from Vadodara, in the names of ''Laskar-e-Toiba'', ''Indian Mujahideen'' and ''Antakvad SIMI'', Mr Kalara said.

The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and Railway police immediately launched a search operation, but found nothing objectionable, he said adding, ''However, We are keeping a tight vigil to avoid any eventuality.'' UNI AV RN RL ND1602
