French military officer looks to CM for help

Puducherry, Sep 16 (UNI) Lt Colonel H Mouhammad Moustafa, a retired French military officer residing here, today sought Chief Minister V Vaithilingam's intervention into the issue in which a house was taken over by a former MLA and his henchmen.

In a memorandum to the Chief Minister, the Lt Colonel said on August 19, former MLA Anibal Kennedy and his henchmen burgled his house and property worth several lakhs of rupees.

They later replaced the lock, thereby taking the property into their possession. The owner of the house was in France and he (Lt Col Moustafa) was taking care of it.

Stating such incidents proved there was no security for French citizens in Puducherry, Lt Col Moustafa urged the Chief Minister to take immediate steps to retrieve the house and the looted properties.

Though a complaint had already been lodged with the police, no action was initiated yet.
