Dateless Aussies taking to billboards to find love

Melbourne, Sept 15 : Some of the desperate and dateless singles have put themselves across six billboards Down Under, in a bid to find love.

Five men and five women are promoting themselves, dressed in their underwear, and asking commuters to register interest on a website.

The initiative has been taken by North Sydney single woman Bea Obradovic.

Obradovic has funded the project entirely on her own with no financial backing.

She has refinanced her house to pay for the ads, and hired PR guru and cricket wife Rachel Friend to pass on her message.

Obradovic said she hopes the project will counter the perception of singles as "desperate".

"There is nothing embarrassing about wanting companionship," News.com.au quoted her, as saying.

"There is nothing wrong with admitting you don't want to spend the rest of your life alone," she added

She said that the notices eliminated the mixed messages that can make Internet dating difficult.

"These are just good, decent people, who want to find genuine, lasting relationships," she said.
