Ashok Chawla new Economic Affairs Secretary
New Delhi, Sep 15 (UNI) Civil Aviation Secretary Ashok Chawla has been appointed Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, it was officially announced today.
He will be replaced by Mr M Madhavan Nambiar in the aviation department.
Mr Chawla is expected to hand over charge to Mr Nambiar on Wednesday, an official release said.
A 1974 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, Mr Nambiar was earlier Special Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
