AIADMK worker killed in mishap during Jaya's public meeting

Theni, Tamil Nadu, Sep 15 (UNI) An AIADMK worker was killed and six others injured when a scaffolding on which a group of party volunteers were standing to watch a special address by party supremo J Jayalalithaa at a public meeting collapsed at Karuvelanaickenpatti village here last night.

Police sources said the tragedy occurred when a group of AIADMK workers attempted to climb up the scaffolding erected for serial light decoration. The deceased was identified as Saleth (70) of Anumanthapatti village.

The injured were admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital here. The condition of one of them was stated to be critical.
