TN govt announces holiday on Sep 15
Chennai, Sep 14 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government has declared a holiday for tomorrow under the Negotiable Instruments Act to commemorate the birth centenary of late chief minister C N Annadurai.
Announcing this at a press conference here, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said all government offices in the State, boards, institutions, Public sector offices, Local bodies, Cooperative banks and other banks, industrial establishments and educational institutions would remain closed tomorrow.
Other companies and institutions were also advised to declare a holiday tomorrow, considering the significance of the occasion, he said.
Meanwhile, Madras High Court Chief Justice A K Ganguly also declared a holiday for all courts in the State tomorrow.
''The Madras High Court, both in Principal seat at Madras as well as the Madurai bench, and all the subordinate courts in Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry will remain closed tomorrow on account of Anna's birth centenary,'' an official release said.
