Jammu Kashmir: Curfew relaxed in Baramulla
Srinagar, Sep 14: Curfew was relaxed in Baramulla town in north Kashmir, while it continued in Shopian in south Kashmir, official sources said today.
Curfew in both the towns was imposed on Friday afternoon, following the death of one person each and injuries to several others in police and CRPF firing on processionists.
A UNI report from Baramulla said a posse of security forces deployed in strength to strictly enforce the curfew restriction since Friday afternoon, were withdrawn today at 0900 hrs.
Though there was no official announcement that the curfew has been lifted, people came out to purchase essential commodities in the town.
No relaxation in Shopian was, however, given in the curfew since Friday they said, adding the district authorities will review the situation before deciding about further relaxation.
