Badempet Ganesh Laddu fetches highest price

Hyderabad, Sep 14 (UNI) The Badempet Ganesh Laddu fetched the highest price of Rs 7.02 lakh followed by the famous Balapur Ganesh laddu with Rs 5.07 lakh in an auction held in the final stages of the Vinayaka Chathurdhi and Ganesh idols immersion today.

A devotee Y Narasimha Rao auctioned the Laddu, amidst thousands of devotees. Last year, it fetched Rs 6.5 lakh auctioned by a devotee.

K Mohan Reedy auctioned the Balapur Laddu for Rs 5.07 lakh.

This was the fifth time Mr Reddy bagged the auction. He auctioned the laddu only for Rs 450 for the first time in the auction started in 1994. In all, 22 devotees participated in the auction after paying a prescribed amount as deposit.

The former Sarpanch of Balapur Madhavachari took the laddu for Rs 4.15 lakh in the auction held last year.

A devotee G Yedaiah bagged the Moosapet Ganesh laddu for Rs 1.25 lakh in the auction.

The people believe that their families would prosper and possess abundant wealth, if they spray the laddu in their agricultural fields.
