AP RTI commission to establish a call centre in Hyderabad

Tirupati, Sep 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Right to Information (RTI) Commission was contemplating to establish a call centre by providing centralised phone number in the state capital soon to make filing of application easy to get required information under Right to Information Act, Information Commissioner R Dileep Reddy said today.

Talking to the newspersons after participating in the 3-day concluding session of refresher course for Information and Public Relation Department here, he said any one can file a application under RTI through the call centre by phone from anywhere in the state and get the required information as per the Act.

The innovative and latest call centre system would be implemented in one or two months, he said adding that a meeting in this regard would be held on September 24 at Dr Marri Chennareddy Human Resources Development Institute in Hyderabad.

The commission had organised hundreds of awareness camps pertaining to the Act in the state, he said and added the commission in the first phase received 8,000 petitions/complaints/appeals. More than 32,000 applications (2006-07) in this regard were received in the second phase in which 28,900 cases were disposed of which was highest in the country.
