Wage agreement for five mill workers to be signed on Sept 22
Chennai, Sept 13 (UNI) A new wage agreement for five cooperative spinning mill workers would be signed on September 22.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held between Joint Action Council of Spinning Mills Trade Union representatives and the Committee headed by Handloom Commission in the presence of Handlooms Minister K K S S R Ramachandran here today.
The earlier wage agreement for workers working in Theni, Ettayapuram, Kanniyakumari, Pudukottai and Oothangarai cooperative mills expired on December 31, 1998.
After successive round of talks, a settlement was reached today and the new wage agreement would be signed on Septemebr 22, an official release said.
