VHP seeks Central legislation to stop religious conversions

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 13 (UNI) Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Secretary (Southern region) Y Raghavulu today asked the Centre to bring out a special legislation to put an end to the religious conversions.

Talking to newspersons here, he alleged that many Christian associations and Muslim organisations were indulging in religious conversions, luring the poor people with all sorts of promises.

Claiming that in the name of secularism, the Central Government was appeasing the Muslims and Christians by extending several concessions, Mr Raghavulu alleged that the Centre was responsible for the onslaughts against the Hindus in Orissa, Jammu and Kashmir, besides several other states.

The VHP leader also alleged that UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy were extending their support to the Christians in launching the attacks on the Hindus.

He demanded the government to order an enquiry against the Christian missionaries, who were coming to India on Visitors Visa but carrying on religious propaganda.
