UPA govt- an all-round failure: Advani
Bangalore, Sep 13 (UNI) Criticising the UPA led-government at the Centre for its all-round failures, BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate and Leader of Opposition L K Advani today challenged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi to dissolve the Lok Sabha and seek the people's mandate.
Addressing a largely-attended 'Vijay Sankalp Rally' here, first of the series of nation-wide public meetings planned by the party, Mr Advani accused the Union Government of failing on all fronts including maintaining the internal security and controlling inflation.
Describing the winning of confidence vote in the last session of the Lok Sabha as the 'mega scam', which was unprecedented since Independence, Mr Advani accused the UPA government of spending crores of rupees to buy the loyalties of opposition MPs in the July 22 confidence vote.
Stating that '' The country has not seen such an incompetent Prime Minister in the history of Indian independence,'' Mr Advani said 'people want this government to go at the earliest'.
Reiterating his demand for the immediate dissolution of the Lok Sabha, Mr Advani said ''Let people compare and assess the performance of the six years NDA government with that of Manmohan Singh led-coalition UPA government.
He alleged that the UPA government chose not to prorogue the Lok Sabha after holding the special session in July as they feared to face another vote of confidence which was won last time with a heavy cost.
