Protest against attack on Churches in Orissa
Ranchi, Sep 13 (UNI) Thousands of people today took to the streets here to form a human chain showing solidarity with the Christian community in the hour of crisis triggered by recent attacks on Churches in Orissa.
A nearly 10 km-long human chain was formed that originated near the High Court and passed through various routes of the state capital to express concern over the ongoing communal tension in the neighbouring state.
Different organisations under the Jharkhand People Initiative, irrespective of caste and creed, stood united and protesters wore white turbans and held placards condemning the communal clashes.
They also held demonstrations at Elbart Ekka Chowk and gathered at the historic Morabadi Ground before submitting a memorandum to the Raj Bhavan.
