Lightning kills 2, injuring six in Saurashtra region
Rajkot, Sep 13 (UNI) Two people were killed and six other injured when lightning struck them in several places of Saurashtra region yesterday according to reports reached here today.
The farmers Ramesh Parmar(25) and Lavji Rangani (55) died when lightning struck them in their farm last evening.
Four friends were severely injured when lightning struck them at Meldi Mataji Temple at Jasdan taluka of the district. All of them were shifted to Civil hospital here, the reports added.
A teen-aged boy was also injured at Jamuda village in Junagadh district when lightning struck him.
At Fatepur village in Bhanvad Taluka of Jamnagar district lighting injured a young woman, the reports said.
Lightning killed 22 goats in Matva in Jamnagar district.
Showers, accompanied by strong winds uprooted trees in some areas of the city last evening and power disruption was also reported from Panchnath chowk, Jawahar road, Trikon bag and Limda chowk.
