Argentina open consulate office in Mumbai

Mumbai, Sep 13 (UNI) Opening of a Consulate here by Argentina will give a major boost to bilateral relations between India and Argentina, Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir has said.

Mentioning that India attached great importance to Latin America, the Governor assured that he will extend full support to the Argentinean consulate in improving business, trade and cultural relations in India.

The Argentina Consul General Fernando Luis Ras, who called upon the Governor said Argentina and India have shared very warm relations in the last 60 years. The decision of his country to open a consulate in city shows Argentina's desire to further strengthen ties with resurgent India.

Mr Luis also said it was a great coincidence that both country have elected their first women President last year.
