Monsoon was active in many places over the State

Bangalore, Sep 12 (UNI) Following is the summary of observations recorded in weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

Southwest monsoon was active over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka, at many places over North Interior Karnataka and at a few places over South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall amounts in (cm): Shirali, Bidar 9 each, Kollur 8, Kota, Afzalpur, Sedam, Agumbe 7 each.Chief rainfall (cm): Bhatkal, Kumta, Bhalki, Humnabad 6 each, Kundapur, Gerusoppa, Honavar, Siddapura, Kalgi, Linganamakki, Hosanagar 5 each, Ankola, Karwar, Basavakalyan, Alland, Humchadakatte, Koppa 4 each, Jagalbet, Gulbarga, Kottigehara, Kammardi, Soraba 3 each, Mulki, Bantwal, Dharmasthala, Sirsi, Londa, Sindagi, Bhalki, Chittapur, Chincholi, Shahapur, Talaguppa, Sringeri, Sakleshpura, Bhagamandala, Sagar, Thirthahalli 2 each.

Forecast valid until Sunday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka, at many places over North Interior Karnataka and at a few places over South Interior Karnataka.
