12 killed and 50 injured as bus falls into gorge in Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad, Sept 12 : Twelve people were killed and over fifty injured after a tourist bus plunged into a deep gorge last night in Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh.
The mishap happened near Chitwel-Rapur Ghat road on Kadapa-Sri Potti Sri Ramulu Nellore border.
The bus, carrying about 70 passengers, was heading at high speed towards Kodur from Penchalakona. The driver lost control while negotiating a narrow curve.
The injured, some of them in critical condition, have been admitted to various hospitals at Rapur and other nearby places in Kadapa and Nellore districts.
Rescue operations are being carried out by the district administration.
