Renuka Sugars inks MoU with HPCL to produce Ethanol

New Delhi, Sep 11 (UNI) Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd today said it has signed an joint venture (JV) agreement with the public sector refiner and oil marketing company, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) to produce Ethanol.

The JV will set up an integrated sugar plant in Maharashtra with associated facilities for production of Ethanol, it said in a statement.

Shree Renuka Sugars has exisitng facilities for sugar production in Mharashtra, Karnatka and West Bengal.

Ethanol is produced with the fermentation of sugar and is now being used in petrol to cut down its production cost.
